Between the Great Plain and the Slovakian border, most of Hungary's
timberland is concentrated on a series of minor mountain ranges.
Oak, beech and pine grow thick over the hills and valleys of
nearly 4000 square miles.
This is Hungary's winter sport region, with ski jumps, ski-runs
and sleigh-rides. Summer visitors ramble among the waterfalls,
lakes and vineyards and towns.
